I have done great things in life, On same breath I have done things that are not so great.
One great thing I am proud of is taking courage to leave a great job willingly to begin a business in business software solutions. But a thing that did not turn out great is the process, my entrepreneurial journey.
As soon as I handed in my resignation letter, anxiety kicked in and it ate me alive for 4 successive years. It became clinical over time and I got depressed.
As a naturally reserved person, I hid my depression very well. Even I didn’t realize I was suffering with depression. I was working extremely long hours regardless of the fact that the results of my work were very poor. I made about 10,000 cold emails each week, sent hundreds of unsolicited proposals each week. The results of this were rejection, after rejection. That did not help my business and it messed my mental health too.
This one evening, while we enjoyed a hearty family dinner, I was unable to talk. My depression had reached a crescendo. I got scared that I was going to lose my mind. This evening formed my turning point.
It was time to turn to my mental health. I was on a path to recovery.
For some reason, when I started to seek ways to calm my mind, my business also began to improve.
It is after this I decided to speak to people about calm for a resilient, happy successful life.
